Preheat oven to 325°. Cream together butter and sugar. Add egg and mix well. Add remaining ingredients, one at a time, except pecans. Mix until combined. Stir in pecans. Form dough into balls the size of walnuts. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and flatten with fork. Bake at 325° for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Do not overcook. Allow to cool before removing from pan. Makes approximately 6 dozen.
