Use extra large pans. 1 gallon of peaches, 1/4 gallon hot water pour over peaches. Ad 1 cup brown sugar and stir until dissolved.
Melt 1 lb. butter, ad 1 cup sugar and 1 cup flour. Ad flour and sugar in equal amounts until consistency will drop by spoonful onto peaches. May be up to 2 cups of each.....remember....equal amounts.
Get a really strong man to put it in oven heated to 385....and cook until golden brown. Serve with MAYFIELD vanilla ice cream.....repeat until 12 cobblers are done and serve with a smile. A real friend maker.
When the young man you love dearly calls and says can you please make peach cobbler for 400 what would you say......sure son we can do it. And we did......all you have to do is gather the good folks at Crossroads Baptist Church and get to work.....a great time was had by all. Mama Lucy, Ann, Janel, Sherry, Cherie and many volunteers who made the Fall Festival a great success. Working together to bring God's message to folks. The HIT of the day was Ronald's BRUNSWICK STEW!!YUM> YUM!!! Followed closely by Ann's cole slaw using BLUE PLATE......of course.
